Fun and Unique Basket

Hey Scrappers! Today I am going to post a tutorial on how to make this cute basket! I am not going to do a video of this one, as it is pretty simple. Lets get started!

You will need the Sophia Paper Pack, HollyHock Ink, A Paper Trimmer, Adhesive, and some flowers.

First, you are going to cut an 8 1/2 x 8 1/2 piece of white cardstock, and you are going to score each side at 2 1/2. Then, you are going to cute up from the two top scores to where the other score meets, and do the same for the bottom so you have tabs.

Then, you will need 4 pieces of 2 1/4 x 2 1/4 pieces of hollyhock paper (the four corners) and you will need 4 pieces of 2 1/4 x 3 1/4 hollyhock paper (the four outer centers) as shown in the picture above.
Next, you will choose a design out of the Sophia Workshop and you will need 4 pieces of 2 x 2 pieces and 4 pieces of 2 x3 inches to go inside of the hollyhock paper you cut out. Leave the center white, as this is the bottom. Next, you are going to sponge the edges of the patterned paper with hollyhock and adhere, as shown below!
Lookin Good!!
Next, you will adhere it so it looks like this. Fold up the sides and adhere so they have a bit of a slant to them.
The handle is 1 1/2 x 11 piece of white cardstock, and then 1 1/4 x 11 piece of of patterned paper. I just adhered it to the inside like so..

Finally, the best part, you are going to attach a flower, or a stamped image to each side near the handles.

And there you have it! Happy Crafting!!

Spring Treat Box Tutorial

Spring Treats!

Today I am going to show you how to create this ADORABLE BASKET to hold your SPRING TREATS! It is similar to the Easter Basket video I uploaded yesterday but this one has a little bit more depth to it! Lets begin!!
First, you will take a piece of 6x6 cardstock. For this tutorial, I am using the Wings Paper Pack. Then you will score it at 2 inches on all for sides. Cut slits up to your score line as shown above.
Fold the box up and decide where you want to put your adhesive.
Adhere your box as shown above. Isnt it cute already?
Next, you are going to adhere your B&T duos paper. I cut 4 of these with the dimensions of 1 3/4 x 1 3/4. Then, you will take a slip of paper 1/2 x 7 and adhere it to the sides so you have a handle.
Next, I created this cute little tag with butterflies on it.
Then stick some treats in it and here you go!!

Valentine Treat Pouch Tutorial

Hey scrappers! Welcome back to the Scrap, Paper, Scissors Training Academy! We are going to be working on a cute and fun Valentines Day Project using the NEW Scrapbook Workshop on the Go by Close To My Heart. This workshop kit comes with an the Sweetheart B&T Duos paper, Sweetheart Stamp Set, Sweetheart Epoxy Stickers as well as the workshop guide. With my leftovers, I planned this AWESOME project to show you! Lets begin, shall we?

Cut a piece of black cardstock 5 1/4 x 7 7/8- Then score it at 2" and 5". Then rotate it and cut it at 1".

Then, you are going to cut a piece of b&t duos, I used the flowery one, and cut it at 7 7/8 x 3 3/4 In a later step, you will wrap it around the black base.
The next step is to take the back of the b&t duos paper - this is going to be up to you on how wide you want it, but you will need to make it long enough to go around the entire pouch.

As you see my sandwich above, you are going to want to layer these three pieces of paper around each other.Now, this is what your pouch should look like so far!
Our next step is going to be the tag that goes inside of our pouch. Ok, you are going to cut a piece of cardstock at 2 3/4 x 4 1/4. Round the corners. Then you are going to cut a piece of b&t duos at 4x2 1/2. Round these corners and adhere them together and add a ribbon at the top.
Using the larger heart stamp on your new stamp set, use cranberry ink and stamp it on white paper. Then, you are going to cut it out and glue it on a piece of red scrap paper, and cut around the edges, leaving some room. Then, you are going to glue it on the black paper and cut around the edges leaving some room as well. Now you have a nice sturdy interactive heart! Take 3D foam and glue it on the front of your pouch-

Here you go! This is your final pouch! Enjoy!

Tri-Fold Triangle Card Tutorial- With a Twist!

Supplies Needed: Hooligans Paper Packet (AVAILABLE SEPTEMBER 1ST HERE) -or- I used the Hooligans Workshop on the Go, which came with the stamp set and the Paper! Ink Stamp Set (I used the one that you can ONLY GET in the Hooligans Workshop on the Go! Adhesive Step One: Cut a piece of Lagoon Cardstock 3 1/2 x 10 1/2 Step Two: Score at 3 1/2 x 7 Step three Score diagonally on each side- the Scores should face the same direction Step Four Pre-fold your card so it folds up into a square, adhere the flaps under Step Five Cut a piece of patterned paper 3 1/4 x 3 1/4 and then cut diagonally

Step Six Glue your diagonal patterned paper on each of the flaps Step Seven: Stamp a Monstor from your stamp set on a piece of white cardstock 1 3/4 x 2

Step Seven: Prepare your outside image and layer- Cardstock: 2 1/4 x 2 1/2, Patterned paper: 2 x 2 1/4, White Cardstock with stamped image 1 3/4 x 2

Easel Card Tutorial

In due time, all of my friends and family will be able to get a good look at the NEW Close To My Heart Fall and Winter Catalog, and it is AMAZING! But in the meantime, let me make your eyes twinkle with a sneak peak of the new products in action! You can use your fabulous CTMH Products that you already have, but be ready to want want want the new products!!

Easel Card

Supplies Needed:
4 1/4 x 8 1/2 Piece of Pear Cardstock Paper
Piece of White Cardstock 4x4
Piece of Hooligans Patterned Paper 4x4
Stamp Set
White Cardstock for Stamping
3 3/4 x 2 Lagoon Cardstock (For outside)
1 1/2 x 4 1/4 piece of Lagoon Cardstock (for inside)
Brads
Ink

Step One:
With your 4 1/4 x 8 1/2 piece of cardstock flush the long way on your paper cutter or scoring system, score at 4 1/4 and 6 3/8. Crease your folds

Step two:
With the 4 1/4 side down, adhere your 4 1/4 seperate square so that it is completely matched up with your square as it is folded. only adhere it to the top tab.

Step Three
Decorate the inside by stamping on your 4 1/4 piece of white cardstock. Adhere.

Step Four:
Scallop the edges of your 4 1/4 x 1 1/2 piece of lagoon cardstock. adhere to the bottom. Let the flaps loose so that they will catch the easel part when it sits up.

Step Five:
Adhere your Hooligans 4" square paper to the top of the easel. Stamp your images on white cardstock and decorate. Find a good place to put your brads- Remember- in threes works best!

Definition Of You Mini Album

A Board Book of Sorts

So you know that thin cardboard that comes in the back of labels or paper to support it, or in packaging? Its almost like a really thin chipboard? Well I save up a bunch that gets tossed at work and have been making some ADORABLE mini albums with it! This mini album is for a dear friend at work who has been amazingly kind. We have been friends for almost a year now, and so this I made especially for her! I don't have directions, because this is a take it as you go project, however the chip-board is measured at 5 1/4 x 3. I put two binder rings at the top to hold it together, so she can pick a definition for a day and display it at her desk! LOVE it!

Notecard Size Purse Tutorial

I have a few tutorials I put together, but I will only post ONE tonight! :) And more tomorrow! :)

I was checking out SplitCoastStampers, we all know the site, and I found this CUTE purse, but I thought it would be fun to make, and do my own re-inaction of it. So here it is!

{I am warning you, I am a little loopy. 5 too many Diet Mountain Dews!}

Firstly, you are going to want to decide what your "theme" is. I decided I wanted to play around with Cherries, imagine that. However, TO PUT A TWIST on things, I decided to use the Cherry-O Workshop on the Go kit, with the stamp set that you can only get in that kit.

First, you are going to need a piece of 5 3/4 x 11 piece of cardstock, I chose Sweet Leaf out of the Cherry-O Paper Collection {Which comes in the WORKSHOP ON THE GO, perfect!}

Then, you are going to score it at 10 1/2, 6, 5 1/4, and 3/4. Then, lengthwise, you are going to score it at 5"

After you have done your scoring, you want to cut slits up to the score lines so that you create little tabs, {DON'T CUT THEM OFF LIKE I DID, OOPS!}

Now just take your box and fold along the score lines, and you should HOPEFULLY see how the purse will go together. Fold your flaps in on the bottom an overlap the flaps on the side and you have your purse base. BEFORE YOU FOLD AND ADHERE, DECORATE IT, trust me, its just easier!

The patterned paper from the Cherry-O collection that I used was cut at 4 1/4 x 4 3/4. I did mine differently in the aspect that I didn't decorate the sides, an I didn't use ribbon for my handle.

The handle, is a piece of sweet leaf cut at 1/2 x 12 and a piece of Patterned Paper cut at 1/4 x 12. I then adhered my handle to the side with a Sweet Leaf Bigger Brads. I FORGOT TO USE MY DARLING TULIP MINI COLLECTION THAT CAME WITH MY KIT! WOW!

And there you have your purse! One more step though, make postcard size cards and envelopes to put in it and CABOOM DI ADA! you got her done!

I decided that after making this purse, my new slogan should be, I TRY IT AND SCREW IT UP SO YOU DON'T HAVE TO! :) awww.. the good life!

Summer Romance Digital Papers

Ok friends, I am trying something new. Don't worry, I will always be you Close To My Heart Consultant and continue to work on tutorials, HOWEVER I make my own digital papers for banners and such, and would like to share some with you FOR FREE. Card Frame Tutorial

Today I am going to share with you how to create the cute frame that is in this card. Isn't that just fantabulous! It is nice to create some dimension, but does not take a whole lot of effort to create, so follow along, and you can have one too!

Step One: You need to cut a piece of patterned paper

4 1/4x 4 1/4 and a piece of colonial white cardstock at

2 3/4x2 3/4.

Step Two: Find the center of the square by drawing a light line from one corner to the other. Where the two lines meet is where you are going to fold your corners to

Step Three: Fold all corners to the center of your square, this makes another square.

Step Four: Take the corners again and fold them out to the edge of your square as shown in the picture. Then, put your 2 3/4 square of colonial cardstock in the middle of your frame

Step Five: Put your 2 3/4 square of colonial cardstock in the middle of your frame

Step Five: Take four bitty brads and secure them on each of your tabs. Then, create the element that you want to have in the center, such as a flower, or choose a stamp sentiment.

Step Six: attach them together and you have your frame. There are so many possibilities for this frame so try out a few!

File Folder Mini Album

Did you guys miss me? I have been working on a lot of different projects, workshops, cards and parties so I hope you didn't think I dropped off of the face of the earth! Well here is a fun one for ya! I am sharing today with you a File Folder Mini Album. I used to make these all the time with CTMH File Folders, but I used just a regular office supply File Folder for this project. Lets get started!

First, we are going to need a file folder. Open it up so it looks like this:

After you open up your file folder, you are going to fold it in half. Take the bottom, and fold it up to the top.

From the hot-dot way, you are going to score at 5", 10" and 15". Then fold it so it looks like the photo above.

Then you are going to decorate each page. I just cut my paper at 5x6 and then trimmed the edges, that way I kept the tabs.

Your last step is going to decorate. Decorate, Decorate, Decorate. Another idea that you could do it cut out circles on the top and use that for hidden journaling, but for now, here is an adorable file folder Mini Album!

Hey scrappers! Today is such a rainy day so I apologize about the poor quality of the card that I showed you above. This card is what I call a Double Fold Card. It is nice and elegant, and the nice thing about it is you don't have to overload it with a million different colors and patterned paper. I just used two of the patterns out of the Splendor Kit and then Garden Green Card Stock and Colonial White Cardstock. Gate-Fold Card

You may have seen this card type numerous places before, but its always nice to see it from different angles and people, so here I am, showing you what the Gate-Fold Card is all about! Lets Crop!

First we are going to cut our Garden Green Card Stock 11 x 4 1/4

Then, score each end at 2 and then at 3 3/4. {Both Ends!}

You are going to want to fold and fold and fold so that you have nice scored folds.

Here you can see the every which ways it should be folded.

Lets go ahead and make panels for the front. You are going to want to cut two panels with the measurements of 4 x 1 3/4. I used Splendor from Close To My Heart.

You will have about 1/4 of an inch around each side, adhere in the center.

Next we are going to make the inside of the card. I used Colonial White Paper and the {New} Thank You Stamp Set. Isn't this just so gorgeous? My measurements on my Colonial White Card Stock are 4 x 3 1/4.

Now we are ready to do the layers for the front sentiment. From largest to smallest, Follow this sandwich:

Colonial White: 2 3/4 x 2 3/4

Garden Green: 2 1/2 x 2 1/2

Colonial White: 2 1/4 x 2 1/4

Garden Green: 2 x 2

Colonial White: 1 3/4 x 1 3/4 {Stamp your Sentiment or Character here!}

Those are your layers, attach as shown.

Attach your layered square on ONE SIDE of the card, and there you have it!

Scallop Frame

Today I am going to show you how to create this ADORABLE frame with a Scallop Punch. Unfortunately, CTMH does NOT sell the Scallop Punch yet, but I have a feeling that with their introduction with the NEW Circle Punch, they will at some time in the future have more punches if not a scallop punch! So lets get started!

The first step is to cut a piece of Garden Green Cardstock 2 3/4 by 2 3/4. Then you are going to center your scallop punch on each side and punch scallops {DO NOT GO TO EDGE}

Your final should look like the photo below.

Then you are going to cut a piece of pattern paper 2 1/2 x 2 1/2. Starting on the edge, punch scallops. Go until you scallop all the way across each side.

If you take a peak at the photo below, you should have an adorable frame!

The final step of course is going to be to decorate. You can use this as a frame for a small photo, sentiment, etc. Make sure you check out my list of products used and recommended products for this project!

Toilet Paper Roll Mini Album

I really need to get my head screwed on straight! I accidently published this project to my main blog, but really its not much of a tutorial yet some inspiration... I will just repost it here!

You are never going to believe what my project is made out of today...TOILET PAPER ROLLS! Yes, nothing like recycling those lovely rolls on a project handmade from the heart! So basically the project today is going to be mostly self explanatory but inspirational! I only used 4 rolls because honestly, I didn't place them under anything so they wouldn't flatten out like I was hoping. This would be easy for you though, you would just need to set them under some books or a case of soda for a few days, then they would flatten right up for ya! I like to start out by making my distressed paper flowers first. I made more than I needed. I am not using any pictures in this album, but rather definitions. On the front of my album, I will put "Definitions of You" but I need to actually type and print that out. I just measured out my rolls and cut the paper 1/8 of an inch less than that. Then, I decorated each roll with flowers and Close To My Heart Patterned Paper. I used CTMH NEW Circle Maker to make the tabs on each roll, and cut a piece of brown cardstock to fit inside to hide each definition. The stamp set I used is State Of Mind {D1416}

Envelope Mini Album

Today we are going to be creating this very cute and very unique Envelope Mini Album. This album is especially unique because we can use supplies that we find in our office with the help of some fabulous Close To My Heart paper!

Your first step is to get your supplies together. I used 6 3/4 X 3 5/8 envelopes and folded them in half as shown. Then, you are going to cut off about an eighth of an inch from each of the two sides. (not the top and bottom!) This is where your opening is for your hidden journaling!
Then, you are going to cut two types of patterned paper 3x3 1/2 {I used Splendor!} You will need enough to cover each page of your album. I used 6 envelopes, folded in half, so I needed 12 of each kind of patterned paper.
This is the slit where your hidden journaling will go in!
This is what each envelope should look like, let me back up a step and tell you how we are going to create our little tab!
You are going to cut a half circle off the edge. Try out Close To My Heart's NEW circle punch coming on May 1st!
This is what your album looks like when it is assembled. You will bind it either with Binder Rings or a Bind it all machine like I did. Your inserts should be 2 x 3 1/2 with hemp or ribbon tied on it to pull it out.
See how neat it looks when you pull out the hidden journaling!
You could even add some ribbon to the side for a dramatic effect!
